For the UK’s caregiver-focused in-home care franchise, Visiting Angels, who has been shortlisted in this year’s prestigious BFA HSBC Franchise of the Year Awards’ Leadership & Culture category, it has been another month of achievement and celebrations. Making it to the ‘Oscars of the franchise industry’ finals for the third year in a row has strengthened Visiting Angels’ proof of concept, which, since the company’s UK launch in 2017, has been redefining the role of caregivers in society and offering a new standard of person-centered care.

Thanks to its innovative strategy and dedication to acting with its carers at the center of the business, Visiting Angels, a care provider that has demonstrated a great passion for and commitment to its vision and values, has grown to become a leading franchise. Before Visiting Angels was founded with the intention of revitalizing and improving the working conditions within the sector, placing carers before anybody else had never been seen in the UK’s care industry. Visiting Angels has now shown its industry-leading structure, which has significantly aided in its rapid expansion, by welcoming 100 carers per month to its nationwide network of 49 franchisees, reaching the finals of the UK’s most prestigious franchise award competition.

With Visiting Angels’ commitment to wellbeing and championing a culture of care within the business, Managing Director Dan Archer is delighted to be recognised as a leading light within the UK franchise industry’s trade association in a year already filled with successes.

“Reaching the finals of an award that means so much in our ongoing mission of reforming the care industry through protecting and prioritising the wellbeing of our incredible carers is fantastic,” said Dan. “This award is a testament to Visiting Angels’ network of passionate and devoted franchisees, who equally understand the need for care providers around the UK to practise what they preach.

“This is definitely the icing on the cake after already having so many reasons to celebrate this year, including being named a finalist in the Stars in Social Care Awards, winning the Social Impact Franchise of the Year at the Disruptive Franchise Awards, and being recognized as the best SME MD personally!”

The British Franchise Association (BFA), a self-regulating governing body established in 1977, was created to accredit and promote franchise systems that adhere to stringent moral and commercial standards. For companies who are serious about honoring and promoting excellence in ethical franchising, the BFA HSBC British Franchise Awards are a must-attend event. The distinguished event recognizes commitment, innovation, and loyalty to business and the franchise industry while honoring the best of the best in franchising.

‘We would like to express our huge congratulations to all this year’s finalists,’ said Pip Wilkins, Chief Executive of the BFA. There were a ton of entries that we received, and it was lovely to learn about all the incredible work being done in the UK franchising industry. We salute our finalists for their zeal, commitment, and perseverance as well as for upholding the association’s highest standards.

“Shortlisting candidates for the HSBC BFA Awards is one of the toughest challenges of the year,” said Gillian Morris, UK Head of Franchising – Commercial Banking at sponsors HSBC Bank. Again, the caliber of the applicants was quite high, making it difficult to narrow the field down to a select few. I was really impressed at the diversity of entries across brands and sectors which is a great testament of the strength and reach of the franchise industry. I am looking forward to meeting the finalists and wish them all luck!”
