SanDisk will start shipping 8 GB Memory Stick Micro flash memory cards for testing and evaluation purposes. Sony Ericsson handsets will be the first to benefit from this increased memory and, thus, manage to offer more evolved data storage solutions to their users.

The 8GB data storage on mobile devices
seems to be a limit that many producers are trying to line up to. The first handset to pack such an internal memory has been Apple’s iPhone. Other devices with less generous default storage space will also be able to benefit from this huge amount of space that this device is capable of providing by default.

“With the addition of an 8GB SanDisk M2 card, consumers will instantly have the same amount of storage as the largest capacity iPhone”, observes Jeff Kost, senior vice president and general manager of the Mobile Consumer Solutions division at SanDisk. The image says it all. Nokia 5310 XpressMusic has just received a JBL Speaker as an extremely useful accessory for helping it provide the best music listening results.

The JBL Speaker is definitely not a looker, but more of a device meant to provide an evolved solution. The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic handset is
placed in a “socket” that fits perfectly and then uses it for streaming music with it. The device has some large side speakers that are supposed to provide stereo sound quality.

The buttons on this JBL Speaker are quite large, opposed to the little one stat the mobile phone has. No problem in that, as it brings easier handling. Still, the device looks pretty big and will also need some transportation when not in use. There’s no compact way of carrying it around, as there this is actually a pretty large device. Still, it will surely prove to be a more evolved solution than other similar devices. The quality might not be at the same standards as those set by similar music players, although this can be put up to the test. (more…)
